By booking, paying a deposit or payment, or attending any Melbourne Skin Academy course, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Course bookings & payment

Full payment is required to secure your place in a Melbourne Skin Academy course.

All deposits and payments are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable, except where required by applicable Australian Consumer Law.

Full payment must be received prior to the commencement of your training. Your place in the course is not considered secured until the required payment has been received.

Course payments remain valid for 6 months from the original date of payment. It is the student’s responsibility to schedule their training within this period.

2. Course rescheduling & cancellations

Students are required to provide a minimum of 7 days’ notice if they need to cancel or reschedule their training date.

Where less than 7 days’ notice is provided, a $1,000 rescheduling fee may apply.

Failure to attend a scheduled course without appropriate notice may result in the loss of the course payment and/or requirement to pay an additional fee to reschedule.

Any rescheduling is subject to trainer and course availability. Melbourne Skin Academy cannot guarantee that the original course date, trainer or availability will be available when a student requests a change.

3. Course commencement

Students must arrive on time and be prepared to commence training at the scheduled time.

Late arrival may result in reduced training time and, where appropriate, may affect the student’s ability to complete the practical or assessment components of the course.

Melbourne Skin Academy reserves the right to refuse participation where a student’s late arrival, conduct or circumstances would compromise the delivery of the course or the safety of other students, models or staff.

4. Course content & training

Melbourne Skin Academy provides private and professional short-course training designed to develop knowledge and practical skills in specific skin, dermal and aesthetic treatments.

Course content, training structure, equipment and practical components vary between courses and may be updated from time to time to reflect industry practices, manufacturer recommendations or changes to training requirements.

Students are responsible for reading the course information and ensuring that the course they select is appropriate for their existing qualifications, experience and intended scope of practice.

5. Certificates

Students who successfully complete the required training and assessment components will receive a Melbourne Skin Academy Certificate of Completion.

Our certificates confirm completion of the relevant Melbourne Skin Academy training course. They are not nationally recognised qualifications, licences or registrations, unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular course.

Completion of a Melbourne Skin Academy course does not automatically provide a student with the legal authority to perform a treatment, operate a business or work within a particular professional scope.

Students are responsible for ensuring they hold all qualifications, registrations, licences, permits and other requirements applicable to their profession and location.

6. Assessment & remedial training

Where a course includes written and/or practical assessment, students must successfully complete the required assessment before receiving their Certificate of Completion.

If a student does not successfully complete an assessment, Melbourne Skin Academy may provide a remedial training session or reassessment opportunity, where appropriate.

Any additional training or reassessment requirements will be determined by Melbourne Skin Academy based on the individual circumstances and course requirements.

If a student remains unsuccessful following remedial training or reassessment, Melbourne Skin Academy is not responsible for providing unlimited additional training or guaranteeing successful completion.

7. Prerequisites & student responsibility

Some courses have prerequisites relating to previous qualifications, industry experience or completion of another Melbourne Skin Academy course.

It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they meet all prerequisites before booking.

Students must provide accurate information regarding their qualifications, experience and professional background when requested.

Melbourne Skin Academy reserves the right to decline enrolment or participation where a student does not meet the stated prerequisites.

8. Practical training & models

Where practical training is included, students may perform treatments on live models under supervision, depending on the course.

Students are expected to follow all instructions provided by their educator and comply with all applicable hygiene, safety, treatment and model-care procedures.

Students must not perform treatments outside the techniques, parameters or scope taught during their training.

Where a student is required to provide their own model, the student is responsible for ensuring the model meets the course requirements and is suitable for the practical training.

9. Health, safety & infection control

Students must follow all Melbourne Skin Academy health, safety and infection-control procedures throughout their training.

Students must disclose any relevant medical conditions, allergies, medications, injuries or other circumstances that may affect their ability to safely participate in practical training.

Melbourne Skin Academy reserves the right to modify, postpone or refuse a practical treatment where it is considered unsuitable or unsafe.

10. Insurance & professional responsibility

Completion of a Melbourne Skin Academy course does not automatically guarantee professional insurance coverage.

Students are strongly advised to contact their insurance provider before performing treatments on paying clients to confirm that they are appropriately covered.

Students remain solely responsible for obtaining appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance and ensuring that their insurance covers the treatments they intend to perform.

Melbourne Skin Academy provides education and training only. It is the student’s responsibility to research and comply with all applicable Australian, state and territory legislation, regulations, health requirements, professional standards, council requirements and industry guidelines relating to their practice.

Depending on the treatment, additional qualifications, licences, registrations, premises requirements, supervision or other approvals may apply.

Students should independently verify the requirements applicable to their individual circumstances before offering any treatment professionally.

Melbourne Skin Academy does not guarantee that completion of a course will satisfy the regulatory, licensing, employment or insurance requirements of any particular individual, employer or jurisdiction.

12. Medical & clinical disclaimer

Melbourne Skin Academy courses are designed to provide education and training in specific treatment techniques and skin-related procedures. Training materials and information are not intended to replace medical advice, diagnosis, treatment or professional healthcare advice.

Students must exercise professional judgement and remain within their qualifications, competence and scope of practice.

Where a client presents with a condition, lesion or concern that is undiagnosed, suspicious or outside the student’s scope of practice, the client should be appropriately referred to a qualified medical professional.

Melbourne Skin Academy is not responsible for decisions made by students after completing their training or for treatments performed outside the training provided.

13. Student liability

Students are responsible for ensuring that they only perform treatments for which they are appropriately qualified, trained, insured and legally permitted to perform.

Students acknowledge that aesthetic and skin treatments may carry inherent risks and that appropriate consultation, contraindication screening, informed consent, treatment protocols and aftercare must be followed.

Melbourne Skin Academy will not be responsible for loss, injury, damage or adverse outcomes arising from a student’s failure to follow training, manufacturer instructions, professional standards or applicable laws and regulations, except to the extent that liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Training materials & intellectual property

All course manuals, presentations, protocols, training materials, videos, images, documents, treatment information and educational content provided by Melbourne Skin Academy remain the intellectual property of Melbourne Skin Academy unless otherwise stated.

Students may use the information for their own professional education and practice, subject to these Terms & Conditions.

Students must not reproduce, copy, distribute, sell, publish, teach, upload or share Melbourne Skin Academy training materials or course content with any third party without prior written permission.

15. Equipment & device purchases

Melbourne Skin Academy does not sell, supply, distribute or act as a distributor or representative for any devices or equipment used during our training courses.

Where a course involves specific equipment or technology, students are responsible for sourcing and purchasing their own equipment directly from the relevant manufacturer, distributor or supplier.

While we do not sell or supply devices, we are happy to share our professional recommendations and experiences regarding equipment and suppliers where appropriate. Any suggestions provided are based on our own industry experience and are intended as general guidance only.

Students are responsible for conducting their own research and making their own purchasing decisions, including confirming device specifications, training requirements, warranties, servicing, compliance, regulatory requirements, consumables and insurance coverage directly with the manufacturer or supplier.

Melbourne Skin Academy does not accept responsibility for, or guarantee the performance, suitability, compliance or availability of, any device or supplier we may recommend.

16. Photography, video & social media

Students must not photograph, film, record, reproduce or distribute any portion of Melbourne Skin Academy training, including demonstrations, models, educators, students, treatment protocols, manuals or educational materials, without prior written approval.

Students must not publish images, videos, information or training content obtained during a Melbourne Skin Academy course on social media or any other platform without appropriate permission.

17. Confidentiality & client privacy

Students must respect the privacy and confidentiality of all models, clients, students and Melbourne Skin Academy staff.

Any personal, medical, treatment or other confidential information encountered during training must not be disclosed, photographed, recorded or shared with third parties.

18. Professional conduct

Students are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully at all times.

Melbourne Skin Academy reserves the right to remove a student from training where their behaviour is inappropriate, disruptive, unsafe, discriminatory, threatening or otherwise compromises the learning environment or wellbeing of staff, students or models.

Inappropriate conduct may result in the student being unable to complete the course, without entitlement to a refund.

19. Course changes

Melbourne Skin Academy reserves the right to make reasonable changes to course dates, educators, content, equipment, models or training structure where necessary.

Where Melbourne Skin Academy needs to cancel or significantly change a course, we will endeavour to provide reasonable notice and offer an appropriate alternative where possible.

20. Acknowledgement

By proceeding with your booking or payment, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms & Conditions and agree to comply with them.

You also acknowledge that you are responsible for determining whether the course is appropriate for your qualifications, professional scope, insurance requirements and intended use of the training.

Melbourne Skin Academy strongly recommends that all students independently confirm their relevant legal, regulatory, professional and insurance requirements before commencing practice.
